Do you love teaching children something through a special workshop programme? Are you studying education or pedagogy, or are you good at supervising children thanks to other training or work experience? Then there is a chance we can put your talent to work!

Inventors in the classroom (and in the discovery factory)

We run programmes at more and more schools, on the school premises. Sometimes during school hours and sometimes after school. Often it is a series of about 6 workshops on a fixed weekday between two school holidays.

We drive our electric maker bus to the schools, loaded with the coolest machines and materials. When ‘De Uitvinders’ walk into the classroom, the children’s hearts start beating faster! Still, our lessons are about more than science and technology. We work with storytelling (‘Inventor adventures’) and enrich the lessons where needed, based on the specific learning goals of the group.

The job

You will run our programmes at schools or after-school care (BSO) locations, on your own or with a colleague (depending on the size of the group). Of course you get time to prepare the lessons and adapt them where needed, and we will coach you along the way. You create an unforgettable experience for the children, who will be super grateful to you for it!

You can also be deployed on call (only if you want to and are available, of course) for one-off workshops on location or for school trips to The Discovery Factory. Setting up and tidying away materials is also part of the job.

Our ideal candidates

• Are studying for, or have completed, a degree in pedagogy or another child-focused field.
• Can work independently and have experience working with (groups of) children.
• Live not far from Eindhoven (and having a driving licence is a nice extra)
• Are available on at least one weekday afternoon.
• Oh yes: a feel for creativity is needed, but you really don’t have to be super technical 🙂
