New: De Uitvinders and the Quantum Code

Getting to know Quantum Technology through play

From now on, The Discovery Factory is also a little bit the OntdekfabriQue!

Together with the EHCI (Eindhoven Hendrik Casimir Institute) of Eindhoven University of Technology, we have developed a new adventure: ‘De Uitvinders and the Quantum Code’.

With this adventure, we introduce Quantum Technology to the inventors of the future: children and young people. Together with director Chantal De Jong, we produced a fantastic feature film. In it, pupil Amani gets lost in a mysterious Quantum world. Her classmates try to bring her back, but to do so they have to crack a code.

By carrying out fantastic, simple quantum experiments and games, pupils can generate the code. Entering the code makes the film continue and…. (cliffhanger!).

On 21 May we introduced this new project. In the morning to an enthusiastic school class, and in the afternoon to a broad network of teachers, scientists, parents and children. Presenter Tim Schouten kicked things off in style with our Hugo Vrijdag and Servaas Kokkelmans of TU/e, and there were inspiring talks by Tim Bouchée and Rianne Lous.
