Design together with your pupils Your Eindhoven of the Future!

What kind of city do today’s children want to see tomorrow? In the project Your Eindhoven of the Future, an initiative of The Discovery Factory commissioned by the Municipality of Eindhoven, pupils get the chance to develop their vision of the city of the future. The Municipality of Eindhoven is curious about the ideas and wishes of children, because it is their future city that we are shaping together now.

Free guest lesson or workshop

Your class can take part for free in a guest lesson at school or a workshop at The Discovery Factory. During this lesson or workshop, pupils learn through play how to turn their ideas into creative designs. They get to work coming up with solutions and plans for the city they will live in later.

The guest lesson focuses mainly on coming up with ideas. After the guest lesson, pupils receive cut-out models so they can build a miniature city together in the classroom. At the workshop in The Discovery Factory, they also work with real machines and tools to build a great scale model.

After the guest lesson or workshop, pupils present their ideas on a special website. Family and friends (and anyone else) can vote for their favourites, after which a jury selects the most original entries for a grand final at the end of the 2024/2025 school year.

For whom: school classes (year groups 7 and 8 of primary education and years 1 and 2 of secondary education) from Eindhoven

Duration of guest lesson at school: 1 hour

Duration of workshop at The Discovery Factory: 2.5 hours

Cost: free (while places last: first come, first served, and full is full)

Condition for the teacher after the guest lesson/workshop: make sure there are at least 5 good-quality entries per class on our website.
